Jakarta High-Rise Horror: My Dream Apartment's Nightmare Noise!

Relocating to a bustling city like Jakarta is always exciting, but my recent move has turned into a nightmare. I found what I thought was my dream apartment in Casa Grande Phase II – a stunning new building. I even paid six months' rent upfront, plus a security deposit! But then the thumping started… a constant, low-frequency vibration emanating from the floors, ceilings, and walls, caused by the elevators. This incessant noise is driving me mad! I'm on the 35th floor, and the problem is pervasive; I've seen at least twelve other units with the same issue. My landlord refuses a refund, even after I offered to forfeit three months' rent. She only offered a different unit, but guess what? Same problem! This is unlike any experience I've had in high-rises in other cities like Bangkok. Is this a common issue in Jakarta high-rises? Are there building codes or regulations that address this? My real estate agent even heard the noise but dismissed it. I'm desperate for advice; I'm considering legal action but wanted to see if this is a widespread problem before I proceed. Any insights from fellow Jakarta residents or anyone familiar with high-rise construction would be greatly appreciated. Sharing my experience might help others avoid this situation. #JakartaLiving #ApartmentProblems #HighRiseNoise #IndonesiaRealEstate
