Bali Villa Burglary: Tech Heist & Hunt for Thieves

Our Bali villa was burglarized yesterday!  Between 1 pm and 4 pm, thieves scaled our wall, forced the front door, and stole laptops, iPads, and iPhones.  Find My iPhone tracked one device to Jalan Gunung Catur in Denpasar for three hours – a location we visited last night, finding only locked warehouses.  The device is now in East Java! This is a developing story and a cautionary tale for anyone traveling to Bali.  We've filed a police report with North Kuta Police and are working with local authorities.  The thieves left behind evidence at the scene, including a cigarette butt and blood. We've also noticed a nearby construction site with a clear view of our property, prompting suspicions of an inside job.  The police are investigating, but the lack of local CCTV and the quick movement of the stolen items highlight the challenges of recovering stolen goods in this situation.
