Summer Internship Dilemma: Research vs. Company - Which Path to Choose?

I've received two internship offers: a research position at KAUST and a role at a company.  The company internship, according to past interns, is beneficial, but they accepted a large number of interns from my cohort – I'm unsure if that's a positive or negative.  Plus, the work hours are reportedly limited.  My goal is to gain ideas for my final year project, and I'm not sure which internship would be better suited for that.  The research opportunity at KAUST is exciting and offers the potential for in-depth learning. However, company internships often provide real-world experience and networking opportunities. This is a common dilemma for many students, balancing the potential for focused research with the practical skills gained in a corporate setting.  The large cohort size at the company might lead to less individual attention, but also offers a greater chance for collaboration and diverse perspectives.  Ultimately, the 'best' choice depends on your individual priorities and career goals.
