Career Crossroads: Government vs. Consulting – Should I Make the Leap?

I've spent almost two years at a reputable government agency known for its excellent experience and expertise in our field.  However, I'm strongly considering a move to a consulting firm, staying within the same industry.  The allure? Consulting firms often boast a better reputation, prestigious titles, and significantly higher salaries. The downside?  Work-life balance can be challenging.  This career transition feels like a crucial stepping stone to a higher level, and I'm actively exploring opportunities. My current role offers a positive work environment, respect for work hours (mostly eight-hour days despite a demanding workload), and the satisfaction of working with Saudi colleagues in a field where the agency sets the standards.  However, promotions are slow, and the salaries don't compare to the private sector.  This decision is complex, but I'm weighing the pros and cons of this exciting career move.  Many professionals are currently debating similar work-life balance issues and the appeal of higher salaries in the current job market.  The Great Resignation continues to impact career choices across various sectors, and my situation reflects that wider trend.  The decision to prioritize career advancement or work-life balance is a common dilemma, and I'm actively seeking advice and exploring all my options.
