Bali's Jimbaran vs. Ubud: A Traveler's Dilemma

Our Jimbaran stay was a mixed bag.  The travel agent hyped it as a charming village, but the reality was a busy main street, damaged sidewalks, and heavy traffic – making leisurely strolls nearly impossible. While our hotel and beach were fantastic, exploring Jimbaran itself proved challenging.  A day trip to Ubud revealed a stark contrast – pedestrian-friendly areas, vibrant markets, and charming shops.  The charm of Ubud, however, is a distance from Jimbaran.  We're now considering Kuta as an alternative.  Has anyone experienced Kuta's pedestrian-friendly areas, or perhaps discovered a hidden gem in Jimbaran that we missed?  Your insights on quieter, more walkable areas in Bali, especially near Jimbaran or Kuta, would be greatly appreciated.  We're keen to avoid the hustle and bustle of Jimbaran's main road while still experiencing the beauty of Bali.  What are the trending spots for peaceful exploration on the island this year?
