Let's be realistic; Bali's traffic can be brutal, especially during peak season.  A day trip from Candidasa to Seminyak or Kuta will likely eat up most of your day battling congestion.  It's probably not worth the hassle unless you're absolutely set on experiencing the vibrant nightlife of those areas.  Ubud offers a more manageable option, culturally rich and visually stunning, but still, factor in travel time.  Around Candidasa itself, you'll find plenty to explore beyond diving – beautiful beaches, local villages, and opportunities for cultural immersion.  Consider exploring the nearby Tirta Gangga Water Palace for a picturesque experience.  To maximize your time and minimize stress, I suggest focusing on activities closer to Candidasa and perhaps planning a dedicated trip to Ubud later in your vacation, if you feel you have enough time.
