Staying near Phetchaburi MRT vs Udom Suk BTS

Hey Bangkok! 

Staying near Phetchaburi MRT vs Udom Suk BTS?

I feel that most things I want to do are near Chinatown and Samyan MRT.

If I were to stay near Udom Suk BTS is it only an extra 10 minutes to places like Chinatown and Iconsiam? Or am I underestimating the traffic.

The place I'm looking at in Udom Suk is one minute from BTS whereas the one near Asok BTS is about 20 minute walk to Asok BTS going south. It's near Nana Chard Pier. However I do plan on taking cabs most of the time.

Where would you suggest to stay? I'm leaning towards Udom Suk if everything I want to do is just an extra 10-15 minutes away by cab. 


Edit: I don't plan on doing the 20 minute walk to Asok/Phetchaburi and will take cabs
