Krungsri Bank Accused of Nationality Discrimination: My Shocking Credit Card Experience

I'm beyond furious.  My recent experience with Krungsri Bank in Thailand has left me shocked and deeply disappointed. I applied for a secured credit limit increase on my existing Krungsri credit card – a secured card, meaning my own deposit eliminated any risk for the bank.  Despite following all procedures, waiting over two weeks, and making numerous calls to customer service (often met with silence or vague reassurances), my application was denied. The reason? My nationality.  I'm from Myanmar. This isn't just bad customer service; it's blatant discrimination.  I provided my own funds as collateral, met all requirements for a secured card (not even a loan!), and yet was given a flimsy, discriminatory excuse. Krungsri claimed the Bank of Thailand (BOT) rejected the application, which is demonstrably false – the BOT doesn't handle individual card approvals. This is unacceptable. I'm taking action: filing a complaint with the Bank of Thailand's Financial Consumer Protection Center (FCC), reporting this to the Office of the Consumer Protection Board (OCPB), and demanding an immediate refund of my deposit.
