Pattaya ATM Nightmare: 30,000 Baht Vanishes!

My Pattaya vacation took a terrifying turn when an ATM swallowed my 30,000 baht (£680) withdrawal!  I'd used this Seven Eleven ATM many times before, but this time, after the transaction seemed complete, the machine declared itself 'out of service' – no cash, just a hefty hole in my budget.  This isn't just an inconvenience; it's a serious financial setback, especially when you're traveling.  I immediately contacted Revolut, filed a dispute, and provided all the evidence: photos, videos, and even pointed out the numerous security cameras covering the ATM. Three weeks later, I'm still waiting for a resolution.  Has anyone else experienced a similar ATM malfunction, especially in Thailand?  The advice I received was to contact my bank (Revolut), which I did immediately, but the lack of response is incredibly frustrating.  This highlights the importance of being extra cautious when using ATMs abroad, particularly in tourist hotspots. Travel insurance is definitely worth considering, and even splitting larger withdrawals between multiple ATMs might be a smart move.
