How safe is solo travel to Bali for women?

Hiya!

I'm planning on travelling to Bali for a month in a few weeks, and I'm looking to see how safe it is for solo women? 

Should I plan to travel with someone else just to be on the safer side?

And can I get to know and meet new people if I did travel solo?
