BJJ and Skin Infections: Preventing Staph in Phuket Gyms

Hey everyone, I've been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) at Bangtoa MMA in Phuket for the past year, but unfortunately, I've experienced recurring skin infections (abscesses) caused by staph bacteria. This has happened despite maintaining rigorous hygiene โ€“ showering, clean laundry, the whole nine yards. I'm currently on my second round of antibiotics. This problem only started since training at Bangtoa; I've never had similar issues at other gyms. I'm not trying to criticize Bangtoa MMA โ€“ training with Oven Livesey is fantastic โ€“ but I'm looking for ways to prevent these infections. Has anyone else experienced this? What preventative measures can I take to reduce my risk of staph infections while still enjoying my BJJ training? Any tips on gym hygiene or personal practices that could help would be greatly appreciated. Staying healthy is crucial for consistent training, and I'm keen to hear from others who might have faced similar challenges and found effective solutions. Let's discuss best practices for maintaining skin health in the demanding environment of a BJJ gym, especially in a humid climate like Phuket. Sharing experiences can help build a stronger and healthier BJJ community!
