Hey everyone, I'm feeling a bit down after a recorded video interview assessment. The company sent me two pre-recorded questions, and I had to record my answers. The problem is, I wrote out my answers beforehand, and I think it was obvious I was reading them! My energy was completely off. I'm wondering what these assessments are actually looking for. Is it language skills, communication style, or something else entirely? Do you think I still have a chance? These types of assessments are becoming increasingly popular in today's job market. Companies use them to screen candidates quickly and efficiently, often looking for a combination of technical skills and soft skills, including communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking. While a pre-written answer might seem like a good idea to ensure you cover all the points, it can come across as unnatural and lacking in enthusiasm. For future interviews, consider practicing your answers out loud, focusing on natural conversational flow and engaging your audience. Remember to maintain eye contact (with the camera!), and project confidence in your tone and body language. Many online resources offer tips and techniques to improve your video interview performance – check them out! Don't lose hope; focus on what you learned and apply it to future opportunities. Let me know your thoughts and experiences with video assessments; maybe we can help each other out!
