From 1.68 GPA to a Kingdom-Funded Future? My Industrial Engineering Journey

My journey as a post-pandemic engineering student has been a rollercoaster.  Starting with a dismal 1.68 GPA my first semester, I felt completely overwhelmed.  Juggling a demanding course load (sometimes up to 19 hours!),  a lack of social life, and the pressure of expectations, I struggled.  My introverted nature didn't help with building a support network in university.  Despite the challenges, I persevered, slowly improving my GPA to 2.90.  However, balancing my studies with supporting a younger brother at university led to another setback, dropping my GPA to 2.60. Now, nearing my fifth year, I'm significantly behind on credit hours.  The reality is, I'm not passionate about my chosen specialization; Industrial Engineering.  I found enjoyment only in general and mechanical engineering courses.  Considering my current situation and the possibility of taking three more years to graduate, I'm exploring options.  A King Salman scholarship for a specialization I truly love (a different engineering field) seems appealing, potentially allowing me to complete my degree independently in four years.  The scholarship represents a chance to overcome my academic struggles and pursue a fulfilling career.
