Here's a simple and tasty chicken curry recipe you can make at home: --- 🍛 Basic Indian Chicken Curry 🛒 Ingredients (Serves 3–4): 500g chicken (bone-in or boneless, cut into pieces) 2 tbsp oil or ghee 1 large onion (finely chopped) 2 tomatoes (finely chopped or pureed) 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp red chili powder (adjust to taste) 1 tsp coriander powder 1/2 tsp cumin powder 1/2 tsp garam masala Salt to taste 1/2 cup yogurt or coconut milk (optional, for creaminess) Fresh coriander for garnish 1.5 cups water --- 🔪 Instructions: 1. Marinate (optional but recommended): Mix chicken with a little salt, turmeric, chili powder, and yogurt. Set aside for 30 mins. 2. Sauté onions: Heat oil in a pan. Add onions and cook until golden brown. 3. Add ginger-garlic paste: Fry for 1 minute until the raw smell disappears. 4. Add tomatoes: Cook until they become soft and oil starts to separate. 5. Add spices: Add turmeric, chili, coriander, cumin powder, and salt. Mix well. 6. Cook chicken: Add marinated (or plain) chicken. Sauté for 5–7 minutes on medium heat. 7. Add water: Pour in about 1.5 cups of water. Cover and simmer for 15–20 mins until chicken is fully cooked. 8. Finish with garam masala: Add garam masala and cook for another 3–5 minutes. 9. Garnish: Sprinkle chopped fresh coriander on top. --- 🍽️ Serve with: Steamed rice Roti / naan / paratha
