Thrill of the hunt! I stumbled upon this intriguing piece at an antique flea market and instantly fell in love.  The dealer couldn't offer any information, but my research suggests it might be Batuan style – a style currently experiencing a surge in popularity among collectors of Southeast Asian art.  The carving is captivating, possibly depicting a historical event or ceremony.  Unfortunately, the current photo doesn't do it justice (it's safely wrapped up for now!), but I plan to frame it or add trim soon.
