Rote Island (Indonesian: Pulau Rote, also called Roti) is an island of Indonesia, part of the East Nusa Tenggara province of the Lesser Sunda Islands. According to legend, this island got its name accidentally when a lost Portuguese sailor arrived and asked a farmer where he was. The surprised farmer, who could not speak Portuguese, introduced himself, "Rote".[citation needed] About 80% of the people of Rote Island in Indonesia are Christian. Christianity is an important part of the community. (1) My mom came from Rote Island. Her family name is Therik. Therik family name is famous at Rote. My grandpa is Army. Before he becomes Army, He was medical student, I don't know exactly why he choose to be an Army. And also my ancestors is Pastor, His name is Ps. W.C Therik. I am so proud I am very proud to have Rote descent. Even that I never go there before, but I still hear from my family about Rote island. Rote island has a beautiful view and beach. I suggest you to visit there if you holiday to Indonesia Source : (1) wikipedia
