PG or flat for expats in Bangalore?

PG vs renting a flat - which is better for someone new to Bangalore? I'm here for at least a year, maybe more. PG seems easier (no furniture headache, food included) but less privacy. Flat gives freedom but more responsibility. What did you guys choose? Any good PG recommendations for working professionals? Preferably in HSR, BTM, or nearby areas.
