NewJeans' Music vs. Reality: A K-Pop Fan's Dilemma

I'm a casual K-Pop fan – I enjoy the music, but I'm not deeply invested in the fandom drama.  My playlist includes a diverse range of groups like IVE, (G)I-DLE, Stray Kids, and NewJeans.  I love NewJeans' unique sound and aesthetic; however, recent controversies surrounding the group, including alleged bullying and insensitive behavior, have left me conflicted.  Specifically, the initial bullying of (G)I-DLE and the group's insensitive response has been concerning.  While their music remains appealing, I'm grappling with whether continuing to listen makes me complicit.  Many K-pop fans experience similar dilemmas, balancing their enjoyment of the music with the problematic actions of some idols.  The line between appreciating art and supporting problematic behavior is often blurry, especially in the fast-paced, high-stakes world of K-pop.
