Hey everyone!
I’m moving to Bangkok for the first time in May and will be staying for a while as a student. I know Bangkok can be chaotic and full of life, but I’m looking for a neighborhood that’s a bit more subdued and away from the hustle and bustle of the city center.
Here’s what I’m hoping for in a neighborhood:
• A more local vibe where I can interact with Thai people and experience the culture firsthand. I’m cool with meeting some foreigners, but I’d prefer a 70/30 split (locals/expats).
• Access to cheap and delicious street food (a must!).
• A gym nearby and maybe a park or some green spaces where I can relax and exercise.
• I’m on a student budget, so I’m aiming to spend ฿13,000–17,000/month on an apartment.
I’m excited to explore Bangkok and get immersed in the culture, but I’d prefer a quieter base to focus on my studies and unwind when needed. Any recommendations for neighborhoods that fit this vibe?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions! :)
